Trésor Belge - Pouançay

While in the area we make an annual pilgrimage to this real treasure in the heart of a small rural town. It is quietly tucked away with a beautiful garden and the Belge couple who host you are always welcoming and enthusiastic about their passion for food, wine and Belgium beer. This year we were a large group of over 30 including children who enjoyed playing in the extensive garden while nothing was too much trouble in looking after and accommodating all our wants and needs. The food simple, stylish and classic with a Belgium twist. With a helpful recommendations from the extensive wine and Belgium beer list. My only suggestion would be to maybe experiment with some new dishes on the menu as I believe it has not changed in all the years I have visited. A real gem and a must to visit if you are in the wider area of Saumur/Fontevraud/Montsureau.

Marc and Andre bring an authentic bit of Belgian cuisine to the Loire. Good meal at a reasonable price. We were able to sit out in the garden, but inside also had a nice ambience. The menu is not extensive foodwise, but we had no problem finding something to meet our tastes. The extensive selection of beers was a bigger problem, but Andre was a great guide. Probably not somewhere to go out of your way to visit, but if you are nearby you won't be disappointed.
