Once there you will find it well worth finding. We have lived full time in Puerto Vallarta for only 5 years and have eaten at many of the more well known restaurant's and been sadly disappointed, great hype and then disappointment with either the food and/or the service. Colimita's is not a very well known spot as it has been in business for a short time and after the high season was over. First and foremost it is whistle clean including the rest rooms and that for myself an important sign of the quality of the owners and their staff. The food is absolutely fantastic, as in another review the Hamburguesa Camaron as is the Shrimp Tacos are the best I have had not only in Puerto Vallarta but in also in SanFelipe Norte noted for their shrimp dishes. The service is absolutely the best, do not expect to have a dish thrown together and you're out the door in a blink of a eye. The dishes are prepared with the pride of the owners and staff. The space is very large but do not let that deter you, the friendly owners and staff will make you feel that you in a very warm and comfortable sitting. Gone are the yellow plastic table and chairs and very nice wooden tables and chairs have taken their place. The owners are absolutely genuine and friendly and the chief comes out to ensure that you are pleased with your dish. They serve the coldest beer in town (Corona Family of Brews). GPS will be of a big help to find Colimita located in a fine and safe neighborhood and parking has never been a issue for myself. Located close to the fresh veggie and fish market at the intersection of Guatemala and Brasilia (OXXO on corner) turn left onto Brasilia (if your heading east) and Colimita is located at the big intersection of Brasilia/Belice/Jamaica. Their address is BRASILIA 512 COL 5TH OF DECEMBER Phone number is 322-147-3770. Give it a try instead of the spots you have experienced in the past. No vendors to interfere with your meal. Away from the hustle of either Central or Old Town. Open from noon to 8PM. Will be looking for your own review. After checking over my review am always torn regarding how expensive the food is, CHEAP EATS versus MID RANGE sort of puts a label on the quality of the dishes served and I rather say that for the quality of food here it is very reasonable and not expensive.
The best review I can tell an owner of Any buseinss is I 'll be back and I 'll tell my friends . Colimita is stellar. The staff and owers are open, inviting and friendly. The food is fresh and delish and the pricing is very affordable. We had fresh pesto spaghetti with a mountain of fresh plump shrimp and a shrimp hamburguesa ... both were outstanding! The agua fresca, the cervesa, the fact that both the owners and staff spoke enough english that our Spanish was more then sufficient LOL . Made it an all around balanced and wonderful meal experience. Their space is BIG so make plans to bring your friends here! They only close on Tuesdays ... 12-8pm other days ... Come, Eat, Enjoy, Live! They deserve this 5 stars.
I've tried several places and most of them are ok, but Colimita's shrimp burguer has been the bst of the bst. The chips are also very good, all natural and well sazoned. For sure I'll come back
It was a really nice surprise to find this place in the middle of the 5 de Diciembre neighborhood, recently opened, the place is served by their owners who are so kind to serve us, really nice young guys, they have a special concept of sea food, a special taste in the different dishes, the place is wonderfully decorated that makes you feel in a relax atmosphere... All this with a never expensive menu... Very recommendable.
