My husband ate the soup+salad+quiche a most delicious tomato and veggie soup, followed by a substantial and varied greens salad. The quiche had less pastry than we are used to, but was fluffy, tasty and clearly fresh. I went for the lunch duo of beer with pizza. A piping hot flatbread pizza with great sauce and toppings. They did have one child seat but not an overtly child friendly restaurant. Wish we could have stayed and savoured longer before naptimes.
So, on a rather overcast, rainy summer afternoon we ducked into Bouche Bee in Quebec City for a quick cup of coffee. There were several folks there sitting reading over their cup of coffee. The lunch crowd had long departed but, we took a look at the lunch menu (most items in the $12 Can range) and opted to order lunch. What can I say perfection followed. A delicious number of house made soups were on the menu and we opted for a delicious cup of curried carrot soup and a cup of tomato barley ... both served in unique glass jars piping hot and oh, so satisfying! Next up was my plate a beautiful house salad in a real classic vinaigrette accompanied by a large wedge of French Canadian style chicken pot pie. The pie was immensely flavorful with vegetables that you could actually taste and identify. My wife's salad was a huge fresh tuna topped salad of micro greens and other surprise veggies. The Cafe has wonderful micro brews on tap, great looking desserts and terrific coffee. Close your eyes and pretend you're in Paris here. Wonderful bi lingual wait service, very accommodating andy friendly folks. Best of all, with the U.S. Canadian dollar exchange rate, this place is an absolute steal! Go!
We walked into a bustling restaurant. All patrons except for us were local. When lunch hour was over they all cleared out. We were greeted the second we stepped through the door. We opted for the prix fixe meal. Coffee, soup, salad and the main course for around $10 CAN. For another $1 you can get a piece of cake. I had the salmon pie which had mashed potatoes and salmon in a homemade pie crust. A generous portion. I selected the Caesar salad (which is usually extra but since I didn't want the soup they didn't charge the extra dollar) instead of the regular salad that comes with the meal. Again a good size. My husband and I both enjoyed our meals. The staff was friendly and helpful. Very accommodating.
Very beautiful discovery, the welcome is warmest and the excellent and very abundant food for a price more than affordable. we enjoyed the terrace for a very nice evening in Quebec.
We tried to speak French to our waiter, but he knew his limitations, so one of the chef came out and helped us order two delicious egg based meals. The best part was for under $13 we had our entree, soup, and endless amount of fresh coffee for lunch.
