We would be regulars and on a first-name basis with everyone. The price for what you get is unreal, and the service is pretty great. It’s like Denny’s used to be. (imo Denny’s is overpriced and not that good anymore) There’s one other thing I’d like to mention (because a good deed, if you witness it, should be shared)…... There were 2 homeless men who were sitting behind us, and the owner had arranged for them to come in and have a meal on the house. This must’ve been arranged previously. A warm breakfast for them on New Year’s Day must’ve been so nice. It gave me the warm and fuzzies. Also it was just a good morning too. One of our table neighbors offered for me to try his Indian dish.
When I was a kid, a favorite breakfast place was Lyons restaurant. This place reminds me of that eatery, the food is very tasty and the prices are reasonable. The staff are very polite and check up on their guest regularly. For a stand alone mom&pop joint, they won me over on my first visit. Will be going back for sure.
This reminds me of a Denny 's but more moderately priced and, strangely enough, an Indian joint to boot. Never seen the Indian/diner combo... it 's interesting. The country fried steak was average, the eggs were kind of dry and the biscuits were a little doughy for my taste but overall a decent meal for your money and. Not to mention, these minor faux pas were by no means 'deal-breakers '. Large portions and friendly service was a plus so Ill definitely go again but I 'm not gonna name it my number one diner spot either. It 's up there with Dennys I suppose.
For a whole in the wall place...their food is really good. You must overlook the decor because it is dated, but the food makes up for it. It is a family owned business and I just love to support the mom and pop establishments.
Hail The Dive. If you don't mind the neighboring motel that's prepared for implosion, Rosie's, which appears to be a former Denny's, has never let me down in quality, price and service. The Club Sandwich, the Chicken Sandwich, and today's Steak Sandwich have all been great meals. The steak was surprisingly a good piece of beef cooked to order and my french fries though not the HOTTEST out of the fryer, were more than I SHOULD eat in one sitting but I couldn't stop myself. The building is overdue for a makeover, it is clean and presentable.
