Another party showed up right after us also looking for grill food, and also left. It seems they are willing to turn away business so they can leave right at closing time. Disappointing. Not going back.
The ice cream was really good, but not a soul was wearing a mask. We got stared at which I presume is because we were wearing ours. If that wasn't the reason, the staring was still uncomfortable.
Great ice cream with great service in a quaint little store. Thanks, Mack's for the peanut butter swirl!
My wife is from Spry and we used to visit Mack 's pretty regularly years ago. We were back in the area so we decided to try this location. Let 's just say Mack 's ice cream isn 't what it used to be and the service was a bit clueless. We both ordered a version of peanut butter. My wife got vanilla and I ordered what was supposed to be chocolate. Needless to say the chocolate wasn 't even close. It was so NOT chocolate it could have passed for vanilla and there was no, I mean no peanut butter streaked through it. I rarely complain about ice cream, but after paying $3.50 for a small sugar cone, I had to say something. Their response, oh yeah, that 's chocolate, followed by I 'll tell her. I assume that meant the owner. This was hardly worth the trip. After agreeing the ice cream was just not up to snuff, we threw both cones away. Lesson learned. There are so many ice cream places around this area, it is worth checking them out before this place. NOTE: the tables provided allow you an up close and personal experience with one of the loudest roads in the county, not to mention a stretch about a mile away with numerous full sized confederate flags flying. Who ARE those people?!
