We went here for a delicious Balinese bowl and a yummy smoothie. The prices were ok - high for Bali but pretty cheap for the Nusa Dua area. The vegetarian curry we got was completely vegetarian which was nice (and unusual!) but not the most flavoursome. Service was a little slow but very friendly. The whole kitchen staff yells out welcome when new diners come in and goodbye as you leave. It's nice and quiet and peaceful. Probably a better place for breakfast or lunch but we enjoyed dinner here.
What Nanny doesn’t like a cafe in a nursery? We had Mother’s Day at Verdant and were pleasantly surprised. It’s a nice setting for a cafe with plenty of parking and space. Even on a busy day like mother’s day the staff were excellent. We had 3 people with special dietary requirements and they provided for them well. The serves were average in size. I thought the prices were a little high but this was the case for many cafes on Mother’s day. One gripe was you had to make your own tea from an urn out the front. Otherwise a pleasant experience for all of us.
Service was good, and atmosphere good as well, but the food left a lot to be desired. Pasta was terrible, not cooked properly, and not very tasty either. Have been happy with this restaurant before, but we have not been there for some time. What a disappointment. Even the desserts in the cabinet were not worth bothering about. One more restaurant crossed off our list.
Ok so we have had breakfast at Verdant several times over the past 4 years or so. Yesterday we needed a couple of plants and ended up there for a lateish lunch.Being quite hungry, I chose the (apparently) larger salmon main and hubby chose chicken pie. Husband started with a coffee then we had two glasses of wine ($9.50 each). Well to say I was disappointed with the meal size is an understatement. While lovely tasting, mine could all have fitted easily on a side plate. Hubby's pie looked very dry (maybe it was sitting around in a warmer as by now it was 2pm). And small! We eventually chased down a waitress and asked for chips. Special truffle chips were recommended. Sadly food all finished by the time the chips arrived. Asked for tomato sauce, waitress said 'try the chips first, you won't need sauce' I insisted. Got a tiny sauce, finished on first 5 chips. Went up to front to ask for more sauce. Still rather hungry we decided on two more coffees and scones to share. Pity there was no butter offered. I like butter on scones. All the above for $98!! I know we ordered 3 coffees and 2 wines, one side and one desert to share, but...yeah. You decide.
