We arrived without a booking and were shown to the patio which was through an archway of climbing plants and surrounded by window boxes and hanging baskets of flowers and greenery. Our server was very attentive, despite the fact that we were the only diners out on the patio. After a glass of French rose wine we both enjoyed the Frenched .rack of lamb; I like my lamb well-cooked by Canadian standards and it was done exactly as I like it - delicious! My guest then had apricot sorbet and Cardamon ice cream, (in one bowl!) for dessert, while I enjoyed the creme brulee, followed by coffee for both..
Two of us had the grilled caesar salad. Salad was overdone....warm all the way through. Grilled caesar salad should only be grilled enough to have grill marks but still cool on the inside. Was so overdone that it was hard to cut. There were about 8 very very tiny croutons, a little bit of caesar dressing drizzed on the top which had no taste...like mayo and a tiny bid of parmesan. The fish tacos should be called cole slaw tacos with a little fish and no flavor. The lamb burger was mediocre. The lemon dessert was the star! We didn't complain until the server asked us how the food was...we told her what we thought. She wasn't pleased with the answer and service got slack after that. I usually give a 20% gratuity, but because of her attitude, I only gave 15%. It's not her fault for the food, but because of her attitude, I took of 5%. Also very small menu selection. Will never go back!!!
Took two friends to dinner. The food was outstanding - especially the bacon wrapped kd and butter chicken poutine. The main course was marvellous. That said, the server was pretentious and simply didn't seem to wish to provide a level if service that extends itself to the food. "He" needs to step up the attentiveness and take some ownership into the overall dinning experience. I will return, as the food is too good to let a small hurdle dictate the outcome.
We have never been let down by this restaurant. The food is creative, with a changing menu, and the chef is skilled. The atmosphere is cozy and peaceful, so we prefer to visit during off-peak hours. The staff is welcoming and friendly. This restaurant is a hidden treasure in Regina. It may not be the best spot for families with young children, as the prices are on the higher side.
We were the only people there and I felt a little rushed out. We were there for an hour and a half and we're the only people there. I ate the bison burger which had some fruity taste and I didn't like it. The yam fries were very greasy. The beet chips were delicious. My lunch was around $30 I also had a mojito. Not worth it if I would've spent $30 at the grocery store I would've had a much better lunch.
