Nice staff. Seeing the Queen of England on the throne decomplexed me
Sympa a real pub wide choice of rum beer whisky and swelling pressure
We wanted to stop for a glass of champagne in Reims as we were travelling through to Arras. No time or money for tours, so we were looking for somewhere to eat in the city centre. This was a typical French bistro with a plat de jour for a reasonable price. Don’t be put of by the lotto and racing on the TV as you enter, we found the staff were very friendly and spoke English for us to help interpret the menu. We had 2 courses and of course a nice glass of Champagne and also a Cote de Rhone red. Our teenage children also happy with plat de jour of quiche Lorraine and spaghetti bolognaise. We had a beautiful potato and bacon salad followed by stuffed courgettes with rice and salad. Coffee to finish. It was a very enjoyable lunch. Parking was easy next to the Cathedral.
Our tour group had a short time on Reims to see the cathedral before traveling out to Epernay. Some of us decided to stop in the Bistro Le Maryland for drinks or coffee. We were treated very kindly and given great service. The drinks and coffee were very reasonable and had it been closer to lunchtime, several of us would have eaten there as well. If you are in Reims, give them some business. They are only a block around the corner or so from the main cathedral entrance (to the left down the street if standing at the cathedral door and looking away into town.
