I heard a lot about this place, and I had to try it. It’s not my favourite Bahn mi, but not bad. They put too much faux meat imo. The staff were lovely!
I live down the street but only just discovered this place! I grabbed the vegan crackling pork banh mi. It was amazing! I can’t wait to go back!
I was excited to try Luke’s bánh mì after hearing about his amazing vegan creations like “pork” crackling and “beef” in betel leaves. Unfortunately on the day I went, there were only 3, fairly standard vegan options lemongrass tofu, roast pork, and 5 spice chicken. I got the chicken which was juicy and sweet with a hint of warm spice. The roll was soft, without the crunchy crust that can make such a mess, and the salad was fresh. It was lovely but I’ve definitely eaten similar before and was looking forward to trying something different. Maybe next time! I also got a vegan Vietnamese iced coffee (had to ask about it, didn’t see it listed) which was one of the nicest I’ve had. The coffee had a delicious nutty flavour. Finally, I tried the spring rolls as well. I liked the slight sweetness of the taro filling but it was very dry. Wouldn’t recommend. The buns look fluffy so maybe give them a go instead. I’ll be back to try my luck on another day.
Been eating here a lot since working from home. Food is consistently great and a wide range to pick from.
