Unfortunately, the service was quite disappointing. It took a long time for us to order our drinks, and some items on the menu were not available, such as a virgin cocktail and certain types of whiskey. We also had to wait a long time for our wine after the first bottle we ordered was not available. Additionally, we were not given the option to choose how we wanted our filet mignon cooked, resulting in it being overdone for some of us. Overall, the restaurant had a great location and prices, but the level of service was subpar.
I felt like I was in heaven when I ate my pizza and dessert at this restaurant. We even got two desserts! I absolutely love this place and highly recommend it. You definitely deserve five stars! <3 <3
We decided to dine at this restaurant before heading to a concert, assuming it would be convenient to just walk downstairs. We made it clear to the staff upon arrival that we were attending the symphony, and we were seated at a table with a lovely view of the harbor. Despite my difficulty walking with a stick, I found it odd that the maitre d’ didn't offer a table closer to the entrance. The menu was different from what was advertised at our hotel, consisting of a set menu with a starter, a choice of fish or beef for the main course, and dessert. When we requested to only have a main course, we were assured it was not a problem and both ordered the fish. Our drinks arrived promptly along with bread, which we nibbled on while waiting. After about 15-20 minutes, two beef dishes were brought to our table by mistake. Despite informing the staff of the error, we were repeatedly told that our fish would be coming soon. Frustrated by the delays and false promises, we ultimately decided to cancel our order and left the restaurant with apologies from the waitress. We ended up grabbing a chocolate bar for sustenance during the concert. Coming from Canada and anticipating a pleasant pre-concert meal, we were disappointed by the restaurant's service. How can a restaurant accustomed to serving concertgoers and conference attendees make such mistakes, especially when it wasn't even full? There should be a system in place to prioritize rectifying errors promptly.
After a very interesting guided tour round the Music Hall (recommended) we sat down to eat the Kolabrautin. Great service, food and location. I loved the lamb!
Turned up on the off chance. Was booked for a private function. Fair enough, understand that. But the way we were turned away was rude, brusque and most un-Icelandic. Will not be going back.
