Mandarin Chinese Cuisine - Rice Lake

I have only ate food from the Mandarin less than five times in the last seven years. I actually kind of forgot about it, as I rarely see any advertisement for this establishment. The location is spot on. It’s located across from a market/gas station, and next to a building with a clinic and job center. It’s most definitely easy to find. I was able to access and park in the back side of the building which was nice. On cold and windy days it’s miserable walking down Main Street to enter through the front door.The staff was incredibly friendly. Very polite.I was a little shocked as I believe I was told a different price on the phone and when I arrived it was ten dollars more than what I was originally told. The portion sizes of everything were decent, however I was disappointed with the portion size of the General Tso was very disappointing compared to other establishments I’ve been to within the same county state. However, even though the portion size was disappointing the taste and flavor were amazing! It was not super sweet, but more so tangy with a little kick. Was delicious.

We were visiting the area (Chetek) and wanted something other than bar food for dinner, so we drove to this place. The host/waitress was very friendly and gave us some recommendations. What she suggested was very good. If you want something authentic order the Ma Po Tofu and tell them to make it authentic! It was fabulous! Nice and Spicy, just how we like it. we also tried Sesame Chicken, which was perfect! not drowning in a sauce. If we lived in the area, we'd come back to this place!

As good as always! Get there while you can it closes at the end of the month. They'll be missed!
