In the morning, it's a breakfast buffet for hotel guests, and in the afternoon and evening it's happy hour and dinner service for the public. The location is outstanding, with rows of windows facing the water and wide views of the bay. The hotel is designed in Victorian style, and the lounge features wood beams, plush upholstery, and antique photographs showcasing local history. The menu at the Palm Room has options for lots of tastes. We were craving seafood, so we ordered redfish you can choose blackened seasoning or lemon pepper. The first was fresh and tender, with just the right amount of seasoning. Our group also enjoyed the hamburger and the club salad. We appreciated how our server listened carefully to our orders and tailored the the dishes to our needs. Like the hotel, it's a small but mighty team that keeps this place running. They seem to have good morale and attention to detail, and it pays off in helping visitors feel truly welcomed and relaxed. I'm looking forward to coming back to Rockport and bringing more family members to the Palm Room.
Good restaurant in The Lighthouse Inn. Only open for service at nights, the fish and steak specials shine. Call ahead for steak as it comes with a baked potato and servings are limited each night. There's a full bar and service is good. You'll want to remember that servers are in short supply throughout the region so bring a patient approach or try them when you are not in a hurry.
At first I was a bit disappointed with the service as it took quite a while to get our drinks, I may have been a bit hangry since we had walked around all day yet when the food came it was not only the biggest chicken Parmesan I had ever seen it was delicious.
Beautiful inn and great resturant. Outstanding view of the gulf at almost ever table. Awesome little well stocked bar right off the open wall resturant area. A nice air of sophistication without being stuffy. We ordered potato skins, blackened red fish and fried shrimp. Asked to sub out the cole slaw for a dinner salad. The dressings for the salad we're clearly House made with the blue cheese being outstanding. The balsamic vinaigrette was also very good. While we were very happy with the Blackened Redfish it was our second option since we were craving a steak and ordered the only one they had on the menu. Unfortunately after a good period Of time our server came back and said that they were out of steak. Okay so I get that sometimes this happens. The only reason why we didn't rate this restaurant a five star was because of the service. It was extremely polite however very inefficient for the server we had. I'm not sure that she is worked in a service industry or waiting tables before because she definitely zigzagged across the restaurant forgetting things on a regular basis. We had to remind her multiple times of things. Additionally when we were ready to cash out it literally took us about 15 minutes to have her bring the check. She tucked it underneath her arm and continue to do other things in the restaurant ping pong back and forth until he brought us our receipt. Again, as I noted in other reviews we are nearing post covid and realizing the service industry has suffered with no available workers for very very new workers. This coupled with the fact that we weren't in a hurry was slightly humorous but not so frustrating. If we had been in much more of a rush we would have found it frustrating. That said, we would definitely eat here again because of the quality of the food and the friendly although very slow service. The food came out nice and hot so it was not like it was sitting in the back for any extended period of time.
Everything was awesome. Nice atmosphere. Great service. Chef even came out to make sure everything was good. Great anniversary dinner!!!
