Contribuisci feedbackWe arrived at 1215 but were still welcome for lunch. Poached salmon, Croque Madame and fishcakes, all delicious. We asked for the ham to be removed from the Croque and we're told it couldn't be, but we picked it out ourselves perfectly easily. Good service otherwise.
Para nós foi um achado no meio de tantas estradas locais e cidadezinhas mínimas encontrar um lugar simpático e com uma comida simples mas gostosa e bem servida. Ficamos nas mesas do terraço, o melhor lugar, visto que o café é um bar bastante simples, antigo e um pouco mal cuidado. Curioso foi a quantidade de turistas ingleses por lá.
Dejlig mad, friske råvarer! Betjeningen er go, og der tales fremragende engelsk. Var positiv overrasket over kvaliteten af maden!
Évidemment, quand la veille vous avez mangé pour 24€ au Bistrot de Stéphanie au Château de l'Hoste, vous n'en croyez vos papilles! Ça ne vaut pas plus de 15€, un midi dans un cadre urbain normal.... pas de recherche de présentation (lamelles de poires pochées dures comme de la semelle, agneau ultra cuit avec ses poivrons aux pépins tout aussi fondant qu'une peau de melon, salade crue....on peut s'arrêter là). Mais bon, tant qu'il y aura des anglais pour remplir la terrasse, pourquoi se forcer.. On est venu, on a vu, on a perdu... 50€. Sinon, joli village.
I have been effuse in my praise for Cafe du Centre in the past.AND WOULD STRESS THAT THE WAIT STAFF WAS EXCELLENT.The chef is the same one that created a stunning birthday meal for me a while ago, and was great for the party of six in a subsequent year.This year we turned up, it was almost empty and we asked the waitress if it was possible to do something for vegetarians that did not want the ubiquitous Chevre Tart and Salad.She said 'perhaps an omlette' and we said yes please with chips, if possible. There was Ham Egg and Chips on the menu, as loads of English visit, so we were confident.I heard the waitress ask the chef, who is from London, if he could do this and he said 'no'. she came out and apologised, so we suggested egg and chips (as per the menu, but no Ham) but again 'no'I am diabetic and needed to eat, so my FINAL MEAL EVER at the Cafe du Centre was the ubiquitous Chevre Tart and Salad. The waitress was absolutely aghast at the English chef's attitude, but luckily I overheard him, so knew it was him not her.This was a gem of a find, but the joy of France is that every village has a cafe for lunch, we will try them in the future, there are many villages around Roquecor. Well done Phil (the chef) I came in and shook your hand for previous efforts, but have made sure that I have told all of my friends how things have changed.
