Contribuisci feedbackI'm going for lunch. Lunch menu is such a deal I can't believe this place isn't more business. Just as good or better than Boston Lobster on the street, but with better parking and less audience. I love the shells with black bean, but they were made of shells today, so I finally tried the razor clams. I had to pay the $17.99 a pound instead of lunch special price, but still a bargain. The only reason I don't order the razor shells all the time, because the lunch specialties are so good. Since I needed my black bean repair, the server offered to be prepared the fish fillet with black bean instead of ginger like the razor. So cool. In any case, another good meal for lunch at a bargain, simply not the same bargain as usual, but will be again soon for my usual repair.
If you are familiar with the San Gabriel Valley, then you know that the area has become a wealth of Asian cuisine. From Monterey Park to Arcadia you will find no lack of good food. But New Century Lobster follows a tradition first set in Newport Seafood Restaurant (on Las Tunas in San Gabriel) and then in Boston Lobster (on Valley Blvd also in San Gabriel). Quickly said, if you like the food of Newport and Boston, then you will love New Century Lobster as the food is prepared by the original cooks of both. I ate New Century Lobster over the weekend with my family and one thing that distinguishes this place from Boston Lobster is the plentiful parking lot. In the area between McDonald's and 888 Seafood, New Century Lobster is located in shops and shops behind Tip Top Sandwich. Since the name of the game is lobster, I will be right to the point. It is the same style and presentation of Newport, but with the same favorable price of Boston Lobster. We had ordered a 3-4 pound lobster and it was cooked over noddles and filled with open lobster sections, green onions, paprika, chopped jalapanos, and the rest. The lobster was well cooked where it was not rubbery or mushy. The noodles were wet and well seasoned. We had also ordered a supplement of honey walnut shrimp and a plate of basil shells that were both delicious. Since we came at 11:30 when they opened, there was plenty of space. While Newport has the largest room and Boston Lobster has the smallest, I would say that New Century Lobster is in the middle. They occupy a space that has around 4-5 round tables and 4 stands that sit around 4 pieces. We were served with hot tea and hot and acid soup and at the end of the meal we received sweaty oranges to clean the pallet. All in all, this is a welcome addition to the San Gabriel Valley scene. I personally find iteration the best as it marries the affordability of Boston Lobster prices with the space (both inside and outside to the parking lot) of Newport. I hope this jewel of a lobster restaurant is bright in a chest of seafood restaurant treasures!
New restaurant in the old Shaanxi Gourmet room. Enjoyed for the lobster that was delicious, but fell in love with the Geoduck two ways (sashimi and in ginger soup with tofu and cabbage), Geoduck was expensive but absolutely unforgettable.
Crate food, delicious Lobster dishes, And super service! Lunch here and the servers are very friendly, they were very friendly and very liberal with spices and other items.
Not too busy on a Wednesday night. Service was really on point. Water was refilled, dirty plates were swapped out with clean plates often and everything was done with a welcoming smile. The medium lobster with garlic noodles came out to be $80. Not a bad price. The lobster was very meaty and had a ton of lobster roe. The seasoning was excellent too. I was very happy with it.
