Oriental Chef - Rotherham

Ordered food over the phone. We picked up the order and only received half the order which we only realised when we got home. Rang them up and they admitted that they had made a mistake. This meant we had to return and pick up the rest of the order. They refused to deliver the balance and offered us a bottle of coke as compensation. After saying that this wasn’t good enough they said forget it and don’t come back at all but wouldn’t give us any money back!! The food may be OK but the customer service is disgraceful. No attempt whatsoever to sort out the issue. It would have been less than one but that wasn’t allowed.

I had the Chicken Mushrooms with Boiled Rice, no complaints the chicken was moist and the mushrooms were a good size and the sauce tasty. The rice was nicely cooked.

I have had food from oriental chef in the past, it is usually ok although rather bland. I am 7 months pregnant and really fancied a chicken and vegetable dish that wasn’t too spicy. I rang up tonight and spoke to a young girl. I said I wanted chicken with mixed vegetables, I said I thought I’d had a chop suey before. She said she would check with the chef. She said yes he can do that. I asked her again will it have different vegetables in it? She said yes. When I got the dish I discovered it was just a box full of bean sprouts with 2 thin pieces of carrot and a few bits of chicken. I rang up to see if they would change it, as this is not what I asked for, however they refused saying I had asked for a chicken chop suey and that he had put vegetables in it (ie the 2 thin pieces of carrot! I appreciate everyone’s idea of what a chop suey is different, however the fact that I specifically asked for mixed vegetable in it and they did not give me that, then rudely refused to change it absolutely disgusted me. I will definitely not be going back and would not recommend anyone goes here, as they are clearly not very consumer friendly.

This is the best Chinese in my area! Good portion sizes very quick delivery and the pricing is cheap Normally with Chinese you wake up needing water but with oriental chef you don’t get that! Personally I’ve never had any issues ordering from this take away and the standard of food has always been brilliant. Would definitely recommend this take away

Excellent food at decent prices, fast and friendly delivery, never fails to impress! Would recommend to anyone!
