Stanford Hotel - Rowville

Typical Aussie pub fare; some decor is a little dated, food portions are good, service is prompt. Not bad since its local, but definitely had better pub meals elsewhere.

All standford hotels offer comfortable rooms, Melbourne's is no exception. The staff are helpful and the facilities kept well. The breakfast offered lacks luster. Whatever happened to the great breakfast spreads of big hotel chains? It's a good job it's Melbourne and there are any number of great places to eat, if you have time. Business travelers generally don't so at $35 that doesn't offer value. Greasy bacon and few choices, not impressive. Don't even think about it if you are Gluten intolerant. The quest continues.

Lunch here and not impressed. Food very average, the best was the entree of the prawn twisters, wish I had them for my main.This is a typical pub but half the staff are below average, no idea. Standing ordering food on sticky black mats is far from appealing, they need removing. I can't understand management thinking worn, sticky mats acceptable.Then the menu, when I ordered my main asked what it came with and instantly told its on the menu. No, wrong answer, if it explained what it came with I would not ask. After the waitress read the menu she in a huff said to a co-worker it still comes with bok choy and fat chips? Thankfully I changed to salad and normal chips. The veal scallopini and mash oh my, so uninteresting grey and white no color from any vegies. Unappealing.Drinks my friend had to get the drink waitress to go through 5 glasses before they found one with no lipstick or marks (bright red lipstick at that), seriously. They couldn't even find a tea pot or milk jug when tea was ordered, go figure.Then lastly the sweets some sort of caramel tart was so hard it could have broken a tile if my friend dropped it, thankfully the best worker and most friendly knew my friend was struggling and replaced the tart with what was the best thing of the day, a slice of fresh toblerone cake. Thank you for that.Would I return no, there is much more choice out there.

We had a great stay and cannot fault the hotel and will stay again for sure. The staff are helpful friendly and welcoming which is an asset to the hotel. So close to the Melbourne shops, nightlife and all in walking distance. Our room was lovely and very clean and tidy. The room was quiet in the evening and I slept well in the comfortable bed. Would highly recommend. Loved it!

Met up with friends for dinner and had a steak with seafood topping. Generous serving, cooked nicely in the restaurant area. Will be back thankyou
