Upon arrival I asked about a reservation we had booked to be answered with a simple ‘nothing I know about’. When I explained my friend had spoken to the landlord and the kitchen was going to be kept open as we were a large group, the bar tender said it was the first he had heard about it. I asked to speak to the landlord and was told he had just finished in the kitchen was upstairs having a rest. No offer of contacting him or trying to get to the bottom of the mix up. Was made to feel very unwelcome. Zero customer service. As I left, the bar tender came out and said there was a booking for the following weekend. No apology for the mix up or mis communication or any sort of enthusiasm to encourage us to dine there later. First impressions upon arrival was old man’s stuffy pub who only cared about the locals. Went somewhere else which was amazing.
The restaurant consistently offers high-quality food, top-notch service, and great value for the price.
Today, on 14/12/21, Ramsey's senior lunch club had a fantastic lunch at The White Lion. The homemade Bakewell tart for dessert was absolutely delicious! We want to thank all the employees at the restaurant for making it a perfect end to our day out with the club. We will definitely be coming back!
The dining experience is fantastic and reasonably priced. The service is exceptional as well.
