Le Relais du Bas Limousin - Sadroc

On the way from the alpes de haute Provence to bordeaux we stopped 1 night in the hotel. due to the amazing service of the owners and the staff, the spacious room with magnificent view, the great kitchen that we decided to stay one. second night and if we had the time to stay the whole week! surely come back

Not a current lunch menu, but a selection from the a la carte with one, two or three curses. very good fish of the day, salmon and a freshly made apple cake, glass pouilly fuisse and espresso all for €23. yum.

Food was good, service was good, setting outside was stunning. Overall had a great time and will be back.

We arrived just before 4pm and the owners were outside working on the façade. They were very welcoming and booked us into our room. The room was simple, clean, and comfortable with a balcony overlooking a splendid view of their stunning pool and the valley...beyond. We went for a long walk to Sadroc (about one hour altogether), and admired the scenery and the exquisite Limousin cows. Upon our return we had a cool drink in the garden, beautifully furnished and again with this splendid view. We ate in the restaurant and found the food to be well presented and delicious. We had Ris de Veau (calf sweetbreads) in a puff pastry case, and of course a beautiful Limousin filet steak. The cheese board was delicious and there was a good selection of wine (including a lovely local red from Corrèze). The service and experience was really perfect. The owners have only been running the place for 18 months, and took over from the previous owners who had apparently let the place get run down. We can certainly recommend and will be back for more when in the region.

Three of us went for lunch at this restaurant. We sat outside in fine weather with a wonderful view and pleasant decor. There were several lunch options, including 3 courses for €18 or 2 for €13/14. We went à la carte, two having starters and...main, one having main and dessert. My starter was a simple lentil salad with duck delicious. Contrary to my plans, as both my companions had salads I went for that option too and wasn't disappointed. This was a seriously tasty salad with smoked duck being one of the best ingredients. The local Limousin steak is very good also, as I have discovered in the past. Service was very friendly and attentive. This was a very enjoyable lunch in a great restaurant. We've been here before and no doubt will go there again. Thoroughly recommended.
