Restaurant le Dauphin - Saint-Alban

We visited this twice in the evening and at noon. Both the food and the service were excellent. The portions are very generous (please plan your choices carefully if you want 3 courses!

We visited this restaurant twice for lunch whilst we were in Brittany, and we were all extremely pleased with the charming service and delicious food on both occasions. The first time we were looking for somewhere cheap and cheerful whilst Christmas shopping and the 11...Euro lunch menu fit the bill nicely. We weren't expecting marvels, as our experience led us to expect at least a degree of tinned ingredients in the set menu. This couldn't have been further from the truth. The vegetables were all fresh and there was a good choice of seafood and meat dishes. and the portions were very generous. On our return I had the Christmas set lunch at 24 Euros which was lovely and I had to loosen my belt to make room for the delightful dessert made up of a variety of tiny home made puddings and pastries.

Great food and good portions, well represented. Above all, enjoying fresh seafood and the options for those who were not so sharp on seafood were also very good. Beautiful selection of local cedar. Friendly service and a pleasant night outside. We were a group of 7 and all very satisfied with our experience.

Le Dauphin is specialized in Moule/Frites and we could not mistake it for food or service. They offer a 2/3 course fixed price menu with fresh oysters as starters. The highlight for us was a traditional fish dish on Choucroute (Sauerkraut) and 4 species... of fish including skate wings (Raie) absolutely delicious!
