We didn’t expect to sit down and enjoy the tastiest Thai food of our lives thus far. (Obviously we’ll be back for more! The atmosphere is super chill, vintage, and has personal style. The music was a sweet treat. Some nice Thai pop and smooth jazz. Sue’s Egg Rolls are the BEST egg rolls either of us have ever had. They were perfection. The fresh vegetarian spring rolls were amazing as well. The subtle chewiness of the wrap and noodles inside and the crunchiness of the fresh veggies, all ties together with the yummy semi-sweet peanut sauce for a deliciously light appetizer. We both got the Sweet Green Curry Chicken at a heat level 3/5. It was the perfect amount of spice for us. Grandma might prefer level 1. The rice was cooked to perfection and the curry was so flavorful and creamy. The veggies were soft but still had a delightful crunch to them. The chicken was tender and great quality as well. We finished the meal off with the Sawatdee Strawberry Sundae (also available in chocolate and caramel complete with chopped peanuts and their famous sweet sticky rice. This was the perfect way to cool our tongues after the delicious spiciness. Huge portion and amazing taste was worth the price. I was hesitant to try ice cream with rice but oh my goodness it is heaven in a bowl. Tl;dr: Quality fresh ingredients and perfected recipes make Sawatdee a St. Cloud MUST try- again and again and again.
The new owners really have made this a second place! The food is delicious, it feels like home, absolutely LOVE supporting these wonderful women!!! Stop in for some delicious Thai! Thai it you'll like it!
Great food, amazing flavor, and good presentation. Simple and tasty! We did the Valentines Day special for lunch and loved it! Support your local businesses!
The green curry with chicken was delicious. I had the pad Thai with chicken and it was the best I have ever had, we will return every time we are in St. Cloud.
If you want to try authentic Thai food, this place is fantastic! The beef curry was amazing which definitely tasted homemade to me. The chicken laab was good however, I did notice that there were a bunch of onions in there was wasn't expected, I would have preferred just a bit more meat. The papaya salad was mediocre however, didn't have every much going on for me so I didn't care too much for it. The pad Thai was more of a sweeter dish than other pad Thai's that I've tried which I actually really enjoyed. The fried rice was great especially throwing curry on top of it. Our server was friendly however, our entire time there, even though it wasn't very busy, we had only gotten our drinks refilled once which was not very pleasing as the food did have a good kick to is as well as having good portions of salt causing thirst. Overall, the experience was above average and I definitely will go again if I'm in the mood for Thai food!
