Waldmann Brewery - Saint Paul

Went for Oktoberfest and it was a vibe! Super fun events and competitions, music, and food. I think I got a sour beer (I know not very German) but it was so hot out that the Oktoberfest sounded too heavy. Friendly staff as super cute European feel!

This quaint brewery occupies an 18th century building that was once home to a saloon. The food was the kind of food that is stick to your ribs good including the chicken schnitzel. However, it wasn 't knock your socks off delicious. The beer was solid as well as the pretzel appetizer. Parking is challenging but don 't let that deter you.

Deliciously authentic German food, great German beers, and really attentive staff. Love the history of the building.

My husband and I were attending a concert in St. Paul, so we decided to head to Waldmann's German restaurant and brewery...based on reviews from none other than...Yelp itself! :D I'm not typically a huge fan of German cuisine, so I was a little reluctant, but my husband talked me into it, and I'm really glad he did! We decided to order the wurst plate and the käsespätzle and split them, and to my surprise, the dishes were absolutely delicious. The wurst plate had a yummy sausage (we got the vegetarian one) that was cooked to perfection and super tasty, even though it was vegetarian (I'm the meat eater in our duo). The käsespätzle, a cheesy German noodle dish, was equally amazing I'd never had it before and was very impressed definitely not mac and cheese! Our server really took care of us stopping by several times to make sure our drinks were refilled, etc. One of the highlights of our visit was the outdoor seating and live bluegrass music and the weather happened to be really nice to top it off. Waldmann exceeded my expectations, and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a pleasant and TASTY evening out.

The upstairs has a Bison head mounted on the wall which I found offensive. The smell upstairs is staled. We asked to move that created a 3x table move asked by the waiter. The food is decent. There is no IPA option. I will not come back as the host was rude upon entering.
