It's hands down the nicest club in the city or the country for that matter. I've only had wonderful meals here. The service is always wonderful as is the entire dining experience. It's also nice to see that the club is changing with the times. (Less stuffy old people set in his or her ways managing) the dining room normally doesn't permit kids under 10 and they allowed my 4 year old nephew last night. He was well behaved so it's not an issue. I also saw some guests without a jacket that is normally required...silly old school rules are dissolving. Again, I've never had a bad meal or service less than top notch while being in any part of the club
Well lookie who they let into this most posh of posh country clubs? Bwwahahahahahahahah... I attended a wedding of a child hood buddy of mine here and got to wander in. I kept expecting people to come up to me to ask me for some kind of service (like valet or something). I'm pretty sure if I wasn't in my nicest suit they would have. I actually didn't explore too much and stuck mainly to the dinning room. I had no idea this place had several rinks and gyms. I do know they have one of the most exclusive golf courses in the GTA which I was dying to try. All in all, the food was merely okay. The Seabass for my main was pretty good, but still not as good as when I go to a Bonefish chain in the states, which pretty much sums it up. SO for a few hours I got to imagine what the upper half of our society gets to live like. I told them to keep the membership handy for me as they'll be dying to take me in any minute now.
Well the first time to this exclusive club, the inner decor is nice and there are many facilities. While most staff I met were polite and friendly, I attended an event in the Regency Ballroom and found the male server in suit arrogant and indifferent, he would probably be friendlier with celebrities or probably he needs more training, really not up to standard. The food was satisfactory, but overall speaking, nothing special with mediocre service. There are many more better places to go than here.
I went to an event at the GC last night. While the exterior of the building is not anything special, the ball room was beautiful. The food was decent- warm and the steak was rare. The flower arrangements were beautifully done. And the staff all were warm and welcoming.
I 'm not in the country-club tax bracket just yet, but I was at the Granite Club for a financial-planning shindig, and got to see how the other one-half of one-percent lives (and gets out of coughing up for probate). There was another, bigger function going on at the same time, so getting into the underground parking took forever--in fact, there had even been a long line to turn off Bayview since it was still rush hour. But they had guys with walkie-talkies directing cars into spots, so things weren 't as disorderly as they might otherwise have been. The Granite Club seems to tout itself as being family-friendly, but within limits: for instance, there 're Caution: Children Playing signs along the driveway, but by the buffet table there are warnings that children are allowed to grab food alone for hygienic reasons. I 'm surprised they didn 't have staff to keep youngsters from pawing the canapés. As an extra bonus, I rode the elevator with Robert Herjavec (of CBC 's Dragons ' Den fame). I successfully resisted the urge to ask for a business loan.
