Let me break down the why's of why I like this place. 1) homemade potato chips that aren't too salty or oily 2) Gyro meat that's flavorful, tender, and NOT dry 3) Salads that have fresh lettice and good Tzatziki sauce 4) Flavorful saffron rice and good hummus If you stick with the Gyro plate which is what I'm here for, then it's definitely a 4 star experience.
This neighborhood spot has been here for years and likewise, we have had them on rotation at least once a month for a family lunch spot. The food and flavors are solid. My go to is the Chicken Kabob Plate. Plenty of tasty food to satisfy your cravings. My hubby often ops for the wrap plate. The homemade chips are addictive. For those with a love for heat don't forget to ask for their hot sauce!
This place seems like it would be a consistent place to come to for lunch. I've walked by it plenty of times and always told myself that I would try it at least once. Came here on a Sunday afternoon to get one of their wraps. The wrap was decent, nothing about the meal stood out to be particularly, but it wasn't bad either. I got a lemon soup to accompany it, which had an interesting flavor although I probably wouldn't get it again. Their potato chips are good but also have a lemony flavor to them as I think they drip some juice over them prior to serving. It wasn't necessarily bad, but some of the chips did get a little soggy because of it. The good thing is that their wraps are huge, and half of it can be used as a second meal or snack if you have a small appetite like I do.
Santorini has 10ish small tables inside, a few outside. lunch offers appetitzers, gyros, and plates eats: lamb kebab(12.85) 1 skewer basmatic saffron rice, greek salad, tzatziki sauce and pita sauce eveything fresh, nothing outstanding except for the sauce lamb isn 't b a a a a, tender but lacking flavor, juiciness. one piece had faint taste extra skewer $7. *not so filling. take outs: maybe gyros a better value, chips included.
Me and my daughter arrived around noon, and the restaurant was virtually empty. Not a good sign. I checked inside because I won 't eat a gyro unless I see the meat spinning on the spit. They get a star simply for having a spit. We sit down, and it takes a bit to get the waiter (I use 'the ' in the literal sense since he was the only one). But hey, it 's a nice day, so I don 't care. I order a gyro wrap and my daughter gets a kid pizza. It takes twenty minutes, which seems a little long for the items that we ordered, and in a dead restaurant no less, so I was a bit annoyed. When the food came, I got into full annoyance mode. My kid 's pizza was pretty rough, granted it 's a Mediterranean restaurant, so you can 't have your hopes too high. Something in the water must have tasted funny because my six year old remarked Even the water tastes bad . My food wasn 't much better. Note: I thought the water fine. The potato chips they brought were actually good, but the wrap dismal. Maybe there were five strips of meat, the lettuce and veggies were fresh, but way too plentiful. The last sin was that when we finally received our food I asked the waiter to place a to-go order. He told me to wait, and after waiting for ten minutes I gave up. The waiter didn 't even come back to check in, or give me the bill. I had to track the waiter down and force my credit card on him. All I can say is that if you enjoy this place you probably don 't have much more time since Nick the Green is coming to town. Nick is going to bury this place, and it 's probably for the better.
