It may be small, but it offers a wide variety of products, including interesting and uncommon fruits and vegetables. The vendors are friendly and welcoming. Customers are advised to arrive early to ensure they get their desired products as items tend to sell out quickly. In addition to fresh produce, there are also small stands selling jewelry, clothing, and other goods. Occasionally, there is a stand showcasing animals available for adoption from a pet shelter. The food available at the market is fantastic, though it can be a bit pricey. One standout vendor is Cumpanis, offering delicious falafel sliders, dark chocolate cupcakes, and grilled cheese sandwiches. The coffee from Taza Amarilla is also exceptional. Vegetarian and vegan options abound, with only a few stands offering meat or fish. The veggie fare is definitely the highlight of this market.
Even though I don't live near San Jose, I make an effort to visit Feria Verde. It's a lovely gathering of diverse individuals offering amazing products, many of which are handmade by the vendors themselves. It's a fantastic spot to get seasonal organic fruits and vegetables, and sometimes discover new items. The cheeses are exceptional! You can also find food vendors serving breakfast, coffee, smoothies, raw food, and traditional Costa Rican dishes in the pavilion. Craftsmen and musicians add to the vibrant atmosphere. It's a wonderful place to socialize and connect with the conscious community of Costa Rica. (hidden link)
The féria verde is open Saturday morning from 7 to 12:30. promote ecological and sustainable farms and businesses. there were many fruity and prepared foods available. there were many places for lunch or breakfast and tables to eat. Although the market was not all vegetarian, there were many dinges for vegans, including vegan cheese, vegan entrees, vegan brote and paprika. we tried a vegan sandwich that had mais tortillas filled with bon salsa and avocado that were excellent. Travel books give san jose often a bad packaging, but there are some really amazing things to do here and this market was a highlight. it is a little hard to find the GPS coordinates are 9°56'24"N 84°4'5"W. they can also only feria look verde de aranjuez in google maps and it will bring them to the right place.
