Pretty solid venue. I don 't think there 's a bad seat in the house. The seats themselves were very uncomfortable and you don 't have a lot of room at your table. We live in N. County San Diego and go to Belly Up a lot. Maybe we 're spoiled? Belly Up is awesome, you can sit or stand the bar is reasonable and the food is priced fairly and more importantly, it tastes good. I guess I was sort of expecting it to be like that? Belly Up is in Solana Beach, also a very upscale neighborhood, so they share that in common. I felt $12 for a 12 ounce beer is pretty steep, when I can get a 16oz draft for $8 or 9 at BU. The food at Coach House is like a banquet food. It 's not good and way overpriced. The venue itself is pretty cool, albeit, its a wide room, it 's still intimate enough, no matter where you 're seated. The sound and lighting are good. Overall not a bad experience, It just felt like the food and drinks are there to fleece their customers. For the right act, I would go back, but there 's zero chance I 'll ever do the food reservation again.
Fair warning: If you come here and have a server named Dee, sit in a different section. The worst customer service I 've experienced in my life. How do people like this continue serving the community with their bad attitudes and lack of enthusiasm. **** poor.
We did not have dinner at The Coach House before the show concert so were relegated to the near the wall outskirts of seating. Rather disappointing as it is not an intimate venue of round tables but long perpendicular rows of seating reminiscent of Oliver Twist 's: Please, sir, I want some more. (Or 'Hogwarts Great Hall for the younger crowd)
Awesome venue. Great bands playing there all the time. Beautiful sound system and friendly staff. 10/10. Plenty of non-alcoholic beverages too
