Karaage Burger - San Mateo

It's so good! very unique and tasty eating! my man and I live in roseville so we can't go as often as we want, but every time we make the trip it's worth it!

Small fast-food burger joint that I have been wanting to try for a while now. You have a choice of 3 meats. Fried chicken, fried beef patty,or fried pork. you can have each in classic or deluxe with bacon in the chicken karaage burger, bacon and bulgogi in the beef and pork burger). Then there is a mega burger that has all the meats in it. They also have fries/tots. You can choose nori or salt and choice of mayo or kb sauce. kb sauce kinda tasted like thousand island or in-and-out's spread. Ordered the classic karaage burger and the classic tonkatsu burger. Meat was tender and juicy. I think the karaage tasted better but they were both good. We also ordered the nori tots with mayo. Love the nori flavor but I wish I got it with the kb sauce instead. Mayo was a bit plain. Will come back again.

You pretty much get the best of every world when you get the Megazilla here as it has every single burger on the menu combined to make one giant megazilla burger. We got that to share between 2 people as I wanted to try all the meats. It comes with kaarage (deep fried chicken), menchi katsu (deep fried beef patty), tonkatsu (deep fried pork cutlet), bulgogi (korean spicy pork), bacon, fried egg. There was no way we could eat it as a normal burger and ate it with a fork and a knife. My favorite was the chicken as it was cooked well and perfectly seasoned. The pork was my next favorite and then the beef. The bulgogi and bacon kind of got lost in the burger, but the fried egg was really good. Overall, it was pretty good and I liked how I was able to try all the meat patties. I definitely wouldn 't try this if you were on a diet though.

Off track eating off the beaten path. A crunchy gem hidden next to 4 other eateries, in a lot with really snug parking! Smells great, very clean, and tasty. Beware: fries DO NOT come with the burgers, they are extra. Limited, precise menu done well. The Chicken is dark meat, not white. Everything is fried crisp but not hard.

Nice little joint next to Ike's place in downtown San Mateo. Friendly service. Ordered the Karaage Classic. It was good but not great. I think I'll order just the Karaage Chicken next time (not the burger) to see if they are more crispy. Their shake was tasty.
