Hang Out - Santa Maria

The hangout is the best. this restaurant is operated by a married couple. the woman is called mary and she works at the front of the load, which speaks with customers, and the cook is called pon and he works cooking in the kitchen. pon hand makes every dish with care and thoughts and he is a very good cook. I would call in my order if I wanted it to go out because sometimes they are busy and have many orders and as I mentioned, pon is the only cook. the dishes I recommend are the spicy fried rice, the yellow curry and the pad thai. I always get my dishes served medium because I like something extra heat. pon uses fresh ingredients and the Thai sweet basilikum he uses, he grows himself! pon and mary are the best.

I eat here almost every other week, that’s how much I love their food. Their food is delicious (and inexpensive! , with plenty of vegetarian and vegan options. You can customize pretty much any dish however you want. Every dish is made to order. Because there is only one cook, the food can take a little while to get ready (it’s fresh! . I typically call ahead and pick up about 15-20 minutes after ordering. I only order 1 or 2 dishes though, so don’t expect a large order to be finished in only 15 minutes. The owners, Pon and Mary, are some of the most genuinely kind people I’ve ever met in my life.

As of September 2022 (probably before now) under new management but still delicious and a friendly atmosphere. One of my highest recommendations for anyone who enjoys Thai food. I love the food here! It is flavorful and delicous and always made the way you want it. The service is amazing too!

The woman who took our order was very nice and always had a big smile. The food was pretty good. She even brought us complimentary waters, since our food was pretty spicy. I do have to say though, the place could use a thorough cleaning. I will try it again though.

We called in and ordered our food for pick up. The three dishes was made quickly (in about 20 minutes). The person at the cashier was polite and courteous. Unfortunately, all the dishes we ordered were just okay. Nothing too exciting. There was either not enough flavor or not enough food. My dish was burnt, and we all agreed that our meat was dry (both chicken and beef).
