In 1966 this cave in the old Dominikaner Zoo had its westernmost entrance 25 meters directly over a cage that houses a few gorillas. A very wild man knows as beech and it is female partner. The cave could be reached with a 7 to 8 foot fall hole. This hole was covered around 1972. The Santa Ana cave consisted of a number of large inner chambers (probably 7 or 8), connected by tunnels of different difficulty levels. The cave ended directly opposite the fire department in Avenida Mella near the Parque Independencia. It was a Común Caving experience for boys scouts at the time, and some Dump crazy kids like me from La Salle College.
