Gyu Hito Japanese Bbq - Scarborough

The servers were attentive and friendly. The quality of the meats were great, especially with the short ribs and steak. They also had unique options that I have not seen at other Japanese barbecues, like the chicken karaage (my personal favourite)!

The beef are above average and better than most acye Japanese BBQ place. Price is similar to other BBQ place. I like the fact that kids that are 4 years old and under eat for free. Empty plates are taken away promptly.

I am extremely dissatisfied with my experience at this restaurant. About halfway through our meal, we noticed two cockroaches on our table. The server was apologetic and managed to catch one of them, while the other one escaped. The supervisor then came to our table and offered us the option to leave, along with a 10% discount on our bill and complimentary drinks (soda and orange juice). It felt as though our presence was not valued. We had to ask to be relocated to another table; it was not offered to us. The servers were polite, but the supervisor seemed indifferent. She even went as far as offering to show us the pest control report to prove that they had recently treated the restaurant for roaches. It was evident that there was an infestation issue. Despite our efforts to make the most of our special occasion, the supervisor's lack of concern left a negative impression on us. I have visited this location several times before and even utilized their VIP area for special events, recommending the restaurant to friends. However, this recent experience was disappointing and has tainted our memories of previous visits.

In February 2023, we decided to try the BBQ dinner after hearing about it from our son. We may have over-ordered, as we wanted to try everything and ended up with more food than needed for our party of four. However, everything was delicious, with the beef short ribs being a standout favorite. The marinade was not overpowering, allowing the true flavors of the food to shine through. The service was prompt and attentive, and the surroundings added to the overall dining experience.

We dined at this restaurant tonight for the first time and had an amazing experience. The restaurant is lovely, clean, and spacious. The quality of the food and service was excellent. We ordered our food through an app, which was easy to use and our food arrived quickly. The menu had a variety of options and we were especially impressed by the quality of the meat and vegetables, even the salad was fantastic! We loved the mixed juice and yuzuhito, they were delicious! A special thanks to manager Susan who made us feel very welcome and ensured we were satisfied with the food and service. We will definitely be returning soon! Thank you!
