Roasters - Scarborough

Ordered this afternoon via Uber Eats for our tea. The loaded fries were lovely, nacho share box was huge and the waffles looked amazing, loads of fruit and sauce too (our usually quite fussy 2 year old ate that entire adult portion of waffles ???? I would say that's very high praise. Ordered at around 17:00 and delivery said it would be between 17:45 and 18:00 arrived at 17:25 and delivery driver was very friendly : Will definitely order again, thank you :

Good cafe just off the main high street. Good menu. Decent breakfast for the price.They also have a license for alcohol and have a good selection of beers and wines.

Well I entered Roasters with high expectation with all the hype floating around the town. On arrival me and my companion were not greeted, were not shown a table, were not given a menu and we had no idea how the cafe worked. We sat down by ourselves and we waited 10 minutes before approaching the owner and then he told us how it worked. Maybe a sign to explain it is not table service would of helped? I ordered the food with a lot of difficulty as the owner did not seem to have any idea what was going on. I think he needs more staff. The food arrived and I was flabbergasted. The Ciabatta was burnt, rubbery chicken, a hand full of frozen fries and half a plate of plain salad (Mostly big pieces of cabbage). No offer of sauce or salad dressing. No one checked to ask how it was. Very disappointed. The location is great and inside is very nice but the service was very very poor and the food was just very below average. Will not be returning for food. Maybe a coffee sat outside if they are lucky.

Very nice inside but slow on the service but nice breakfast

Great food and also alcohol I got burger and 3 bottles of beer. The food was awesome. Well recommended.
