There are plenty of flavors to choose from, but I opted for the Whitby Gothic, which was a nice blend of blackcurrant and liquorice. My only complaint is that the portion size for a large double scoop was a bit small, not very generous at all.
I bought the Gothic liquorice and blackcurrant icecream. There was only a very small amount of actual Liquorice sauce in it. It was pink with dark brown streaks. It tasted OK but decidedly average. I was expecting a black exotic gelato but was a wishy washy raspberry ripple type Icecream. It was also the most expensive flavour too. It was OK but not moreish in the slightest. Of course I prefer it to be naturally coloured and not radioactive red but I was Fairly Disappointed!
Found at several locations, we tried the one by the pier. The amaretto cherry flavour was our favourite. Friendly and helpful service.
We went to the cabin on the west pier and asked if they had the infamous jet ice cream because it wasn't advertised or on display. They did and It came with a black cone with gold sprinkles around it and was a lovely vanilla taste. However it does get everywhere and stains everything. Not sure if it comes out of clothing yet but it does wipe off faces easily enough if you ask for serviettes. I find it strange that they don't make this their advertising star because it could be a real draw for crowds as you can't get it anywhere else.
We took my in-laws to try the Whitby Gothic ice cream at this restaurant and they were happy with it. They enjoyed the delightful liquorice and blackcurrant flavor, finding it to be soft and creamy. They instantly became fans of this new flavor. The ice cream was delicious and reasonably priced.
