If you go be careful because drivers appear to speed along this narrow road, which had me worried as there was a lady with her children in a pushchair walking along at the time. Anyway back to our visit. Everywhere I’ve been this week has given a very friendly welcome. This is a large but pleasant enough room with good distance between the tables, a popular hang out for ladies who lunch judging by the clientele when we were there. The main meals on offer looked good, I just had a starter of fish cakes, companion had platter of charcuterie, which should have come with salad but didn’t. He would have liked some bread as an accompaniment but overall it was ok.
We had a lovely lunch here, plenty of parking outside, toilets were clean, as was our table. The lady serving us was great and the food was good. Nice place to stop for lunch, I'd definitely reccomend. Thank you
Can’t thank Elaine and her team sufficiently for our truly wonderful lunch experience at The Woll yesterday. Can be tricky taking elderly parents out, we were quickly made to feel at home and the service was thoughtful, respectful and caring. Food was perfect, enjoyed by all and the festive ambiance a treat. Sincerest thanks.
Like thousands of others, we began the year planning a large wedding for my daughter and after visiting several potential venues we decided upon the Woll. It was (and is) the perfect setting and from the very first discussion we were sold on them providing our reception. Again, and like thousands of others, we found that our original wedding plans were extremely affected and instead of inviting 70+ for our daytime reception we were limited to 20. The Woll couldn't have been more accommodating and their total aim was to ensure my daughter had everything possible to make her day special. It mattered not that numbers were greatly reduced, there would be no evening reception and of course that the economies of hosting a wedding were greatly reduced for them. On the day, the quality of service was superb, with the manager's attention totally focused on providing a relaxed but well organised reception. Nothing was too much trouble and we were expertly guided through the day, so much so that it all seemed over in no time, with all (albeit limited) guests impressed by our choice of venue. The food, from substantial quantities of canapes through to a perfectly presented Beef Fillet Wellington, was tremendous. There had been no cut back on quality and service was as you'd find in any top rated restaurant. We couldn't recommend the Woll enough for any event but particularly for a well organised Wedding Reception.
First time back since the shutdown. Very organised lots of arrows and santiser stations with staff wearing masks. We went because we knew it was spacious and we would be safe. A warm welcome and a reasonable choice of dishes. Small portions if you wish. We had onion soup which was first rate followed by Lasagne and Steak Ale Pie with chips. All nicely cooked and tasty. Finished with ice cream and the cheese cake. Good service but not rushed. We shall be back.
