This is a very clean and well kept Best Western, when Chris had told me he was in the industry 19 years, 4 of which have been spent here, I interrupted him to ask, if that was when they finished construction. Believe it or not it 's one of the older Best Western Hotels in the State. You would not tell that by its appearance and upkeep. One thing I enjoy about staying in high end Vegas hotels, are the smells, it always smells like rich lavender or something herbal and fresh. As I lay on the exceptionally clean, white sheets, which thankfully are not scented, all I can smell is the cleanliness of my hands, just washed in my marble sink ; . Also has a soaker tube and multiple shower head. Definitely better than any Days Inn, Howard Johnson, or even Wyndham we stayed in the last 3 nights. Pride of ownership very evident. I am very glad I decided to spend the extra 16 20 dollars and stay at a hotel that has towels which are more like the ones we buy at Costco to wash our bodies with, instead of the cheap and rough towels the other guys use, you know the ones, the ones our wives use to clean spills or retire to car, boat and rv washing duty. If you value the few hours of sleep you will get before hitting the road again, I strongly encourage anyone reading my review to stop driving, or shopping at the Walmart near by and reserve your night. You will not be disappointed. The breakfast is an actual American Breakfast, fried eggs, boiled eggs, bacon, biscuits, gravy, muffins of 4 types, waffles, bagels, toast, coffee, tea, milk, 3 juice choices, cream cheese, butter, jelly, jam, etc. An actually edible inviting breakfast is a great way to start the day and the long drive, and I am glad I was able to enjoy last night in a quite and clean hotel room. I won 't be able to make it to any local attractions on my way to NYC because of Grayson (storm 2018 . But I am very interested in visiting Bourbon Trail! My favorite whiskey, Makers Mark is made locally, and Chris strongly encouraged I visit, drinking or not, he claims its a must see. Thank you for making me feel welcome, I appreciate it, after 2230 miles from Los Angeles, through Flagstaff, Amarillo, Little Rock, I am glad I stopped in Shepherdsville Kentucky. A place I will always recall, as a destination where you will run into actual Southern Charm, thanks man. You made my day a lot more pleasant, I needed that today. I read the only bad review from the yelper (looked up all her other reviews too, she is a mean SO& rarely has anything nice to say with a cat as the icon photo, get real, lady, this is a property you can immediately tell has been completely renovated. There is an industrial park which recently opened with thousands of new jobs, and this area is being completely revamped, there is a classic Stainless Steel Denny 's 100 feet away (An original Stainless Steel dinner dive Denny 's! . Definitely not a place you need to worry about bugs or rodents. I am staying at the world renowned Salisbury Hotel in NYC from the 8th through the 11th, I hope they do as good of a job impressing this SoCal Brat as Chris and this property has. Mic drop.........
CLEAN. Very nice, helpful front desk at any time of day. It's tucked away, you can see it from the main road but you have to wind around to get to it but parking is super easy. 3 floors, elevator, clean hallways. Outdoor pool was clean. The beds were slightly firm but I like a soft bed. Breakfast was Waffles, eggs, sausage, assortment of breads, cereal and fresh fruit. Thats what was still left when we got down there with 20 minutes of breakfast left.
We were passing through on a road trip and chose this hotel on a fairly random basis. It certainly exceeded our expectations! The price was great and the room was very nice. Clean, well appointed, etc. But the best part was Chris, who was at the desk. Extremely helpful, friendly and clearly cared about making our experience a good one. We've stayed at hotels all over the world, including very expensive 5 star establishments. Chris could teach a master-class in hospitality management and would be an asset to any hotel out there. He also gave us great advice on where to eat (El Maguey restaurant; about 5 minutes away). We would stay here again in a heart beat.
17 June 2015, 6:30 pm Location: This is in a convient location off I-65 well before the city limits. Lots of parking on the side of the building. I also noted that there is ALOT of trucker parking and looks like one that could be very easy in and out for a large truck. It is also located in Sheperdsville, KY so there are a lot of restaurants to choose from. Whether it be a quick meal, Denny 's, Big Boy or Cattleman 's Roadhouse. 5 Stars Accessibility: This is fairly easy to get in and out of during non busy times of the day. Turning left could somewhat be difficult when leaving during busy hours, but it is really close to the on/off ramp. So you can quickly make a U- Turn if needed. Wheelchair accessible. 4 Stars Atmosphere: Very nice and open when you enter. Nice relaxing colors. And it just smelled clean . 5 Stars. Customer Service: We had great customer service here. Just plain and simple. The same young lady who checked us in late checked us out because she did a double shift and she had the same great attitude. She gave us great ideas on the type of restaurant we were looking for and she was spot on! But definitely, this place rates a 5 stars with Service. We asked for a military/AAA discount and were nicely surprised at the 10% off. GREAT price for what we had. 5 stars Room and ametites: We stayed in a two queen bed room that had a refrigerator and microwave. Nice and clean. No smell. Of course came with coffee pot and hair dryer. Very spacious and really nice colors. Very comfortable and definitely worth the price. We will definitely stay here again. It has a lounge/bar on location and a pool area. Nice workout room. The breakfast in the morning was very nice and they certainly deserved the 100% from the health inspector. Neatly labeled food condiments and it is a full breakfast (eggs, sausage, pancakes/waffles, french toast, milk, juice and yougart. Sweet Rolls galore) They also had a fair business area. Free wi fi throughout the building (just ask for the pass code). Overall this while not a 5 Star hotel, it is a 5 star place to stop for travelers so I have to rate it a little higher. Is the service worth the money? Absolutely! We paid $99.00 for a great room, great service, great food and all ametities! Definitely a great location before entering Louisville off North I-65. We would definitely stay here again.
I am posting at 3am as the hotels apparent residents have gathered in the hall to party very loudly and knock on neighboring doors, including mine. I have been at hotels that house few locals before but they usually put travelers on a different floor or end of the building but this hotel put us right in the middle of them. I absolutely do not recommend anyone stays here.
