Both were good and tasteful. I ordered mais and it was spicy, but delicious. the mac
This is by far the my favorite restaurant in Smyrna. Andre is the best and he will go out of his way to make sure your meal is great. Some might argue that the prices are a little high, but you're paying for quality not quantity and PLLK's quality is the best in the area. On discovering the restaurant I ate there every day for over a month straight. I've had the entire menu multiple times over. If you have a big appetite, I recommended the Can-Can a pork chop as big as my arm! or the Tomahawk Ribeye only an occasional special . I love the corn and the Triple Torta as well. If there are any menu items weaker than the rest, I would say it's the Beer Can Chicken Burrito and the salads. Everything else is just terrific.
I have been wanting to try this place since it was featured on a local restaurant show and it was worth the wait!! Everything we had was delicious and full of flavor! Very authentic Puerto Rican food. Cute interior with bright colors. Makes you feel like you are on the island! Food...I had the beer can chicken burrito and it was delicious. Lots of chicken, rice and green salsa. I split it and was able to try the triple torta as well....loved the pork. So much flavor. Crispy bits. Lots of salty goodness. The egg adds to the richness. The bread is so light and doesn't overpower or dull the flavors. We also tried the steak skewers and empanadas to start. Great for sharing. The steak was so tender and perfectly charred. It was one of my favorite things. For sides, we split corn, plantains, yuca fries, mac cheese, and tostones. Everything was excellent. I REALLY liked the the corn. I could come back and eat just the corn and steak skewers. The yuca fries were also great...crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a tasty dipping sauce. The mac cheese was creamy and rich. We had a couple cupcakes of the tres leches to finish and it was soooo good. It was one of the best tres leches that I have had. Not too sweet. Great texture. For drinks, I really enjoyed my Mula. It was a Mule but with Tequila...really refreshing. Our service was outstanding. We were checked on multiple times. Good frequency for drink refreshes and food was prompt and hot. Can't wait to go back!!
Outstanding food, originality, personal, friendly, at home feeling. We got two seats at the bar top and couldn't ask for a better first time experience. I got the whole fried fish, de-boned snapper it was delicious.
Sat at bar and ate twice here in the last 2 weeks. I really like this place! The chef, Andre Gomez, gives you personal attention. Chef and staff are attentive and genuinely want you to enjoy the food and experience. Conch fritters were good though some people don't like conch so keep that in mind. Whole fried fish is so perfect-it doesn't need accompanying sauce. The sauce on its own is delicious just think the fish is rich enough on it's own. The El Chapo cocktail is delicious. They have a solid local beer selection. Red sangria is ok but I was full at the time. Tres leches was delicious. Lovely neighborhood ambiance.
