Nice Quaint little place, not too big inside probably room for 25 people maximum including the bar. We believe there's one person in the back making sushi and cooking the other dishes and like three others in front one waitress one bartender and one person taking used plates back. The prices are on par with other sushi places but all their dishes served to my 7 person party were exquisite. You could tell they don't usually get groups on a weekday. The poor waitress was flustered at times but did a good job for handling the rare weekday pressure of a group that takes up about half the restaurant ordering appetizers several rounds of drinks and large Entrees . If you have a group of 5 or more you should probably call ahead and reserve their one large table that can accommodate the demand.
While passing through the area on my way back to Boston, I was in search of a late dinner. I stumbled upon Hayashi, which had late hours, perfect for my needs. We arrived around 9 and were quickly seated and served. The menu featured a variety of classic sushi items. The sushi was good, though not exceptional, it certainly met expectations. The service was friendly and efficient. Unfortunately, the music was too loud, making it difficult to have a conversation. Despite the restaurant having a good-sized bar, the loud house music was unexpected and unwelcome in the suburban setting of Easton. Overall, it was a decent visit with a good meal.
I went back to Hayashi after a couple of years. Had my close friends who were looking for sushi and sashimi. Saturday evening . Came in and the limited staff seemed overwhelmed with takeout orders and a full restaurant which is small with limited seating. We told the lady who greeted us that we need a table for four. She seemed to understand. We were waiting at the entrance for about 15 mins. Only then did I notice that around the corner was a bar with patrons seated there. We went to the bar, the other lovely and friendly patrons said that there were three barstools available. We made space, and ordered **** Marys. Came from a mix and super spicy. No celery stick. $11 per **** Mary. After waiting for more than an hour and half finally got a table. The bartender was also the waiter. He was great and doing his absolute best trying to serve everyone at the bar and waiting tables. The owner of the restaurant DID NOT SEEM TO CARE THAT THE RESTAURANT NEEDED MORE HELP ASAP. Sashimi was very good. Tempura was good. Patrons were very nice. But staff was OVERWHELMED, but trying hard. Hope the Owner gets appropriate staffing.
Our new and only take out Asian! Great pad Thai, fried rice and dumpling soup. That's what we got.
