The Regal - South Hams

I’ve been to this establishment several times and this time I was not happy with my experience. I went to the bar to get some drinks at the time it wasn’t busy 4 members of staff behind the bar and it took them a long time to serve me. Eventually I got served took my drinks and sat down. I was surprised at what I was seeing. A member of staff was vaping behind the bar not very professional I know there are no rules on this but we didn’t think it was a good look I’m sure this should be done in their break ! Then to my amazement a member of staff went to dance on the dance floor instead of serving customers that were waiting in the bar area. There is no interaction with the staff regarding to customer service -on entry no good evening or how are you ? All aspects of good customer service, maybe some training on this is needed. I was disappointed that there wasn’t entertainment on New Year’s Eve -a member of staff I believe was putting music on but not a professional a band or a dj which is something I look forward to when I go out for new years, very disappointing so we went else where and it was buzzing ! I believe it’s called the crabshell completely different welcome from the staff in this establishment.

Great pub. The staff is incredibly friendly and goes above and beyond to make sure you have a good experience. They have a fantastic selection of drinks. I highly recommend this place.

The restaurant is welcoming and friendly, with a very good menu featuring well-cooked and delicious food. I thoroughly enjoyed my steak - it was one of the best I've ever had. We will definitely be coming back again.

Terrible experience at this restaurant. I came with friends to watch a soccer game, but it was extremely busy. We asked if we could take a table that had been reserved for 7pm since the guests never showed up. We finally sat down around 7:30. During halftime, two friends went to buy cigarettes and a staff member told us that the original booking had just arrived at 9pm and we had to leave because there were no more tables available. The staff became very rude, so I decided to just leave. This was one of the worst experiences I have had, especially considering my 8 years of work in the hospitality industry. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

What fabulous food no wonder they are Taste of the West Silver standard on just their second entry. And at such reasonable prices why would you cook at home when you can eat here, with friendly, welcoming staff, excellent service, always someone to have a chat with. Spotlessly clean, light , bright and airy, this is a great town centre venue to take children, the elderly (brilliant accessibility thanks to the lift) because they are so accommodating and flexible with portions, etc.,; hold a function; meet friends and an ideal location for the monthly Business Breakfasts. Just wish they were every week!
