Must be the most dysfunctional cafe in the country. 3 cold food cabinets, not exactly winter warming food. 1 hot serving place the area must have been all of 4ft long. Shuffling hot food around to try and get space, one member of staff serving obviously never heard of wasting time and saving footprints, with one plate of food, I watched in amazement at how she walked back and forth 4 times with the same plate?. There is no organisation whatsoever, it was pitiful to watch. In the end I left my tray after queuing for more than 1/2 hour. Left the shop completely without bothering to look round any other departments to find food for my family.
As ever, the sandwiches were excellent. Service is not the quickest, but people are so impatient. If you’re not prepared to wait, perhaps you shouldn’t go out to eat!
Very expensive, nearly £60 for 2 adult roast dinners and 2 kids roasts and a few drinks. The beef was so burnt and the kids beef was pure fat. The gravy was like slop. Veg was fine. Mash was very unusual in texture. We heard there was a new layout and kitchen and thought we'd try it, it was terrible, kids refused to eat it. Very disappointing, we won't be back! The queue was so slow, then the drink was wrong. We asked for horseradish, and was told there wasn't any, then ask someone else and we got some? Last time we went they charged us for a drink we didn't want as well. Not going back!
After seeing the high price for sandwiches etc we decided to have the tomato and pepper soup. the roll was nice and soft but the soup just tasted like eating a bowl of tinned tomatoes. There was no taste at all and we paid nearly £7 .I have never been so disappointed, a tin of tomatoes with a few herbs is not a soup
