Oh my god, one of the best salmon dishes I have ever had. I inhaled it! I do wish there was a bit more rice (just 'cause i love rice) but the amount of veggies made up for it. But, if you dont like veggies and wont eat it, ask for extra rice. We also ordered the Bee 's Knees, holy sh*t! Be careful with that! It is definitely a strong one. Lastly for dessert, we ordered a reese 's brownie which I believe was the special that day. Oh heavenly. Always get dessert when you come! Can not wait to come again.
I was in South Miami running errands in the morning, and decided to stop here for brunch. It's located almost across from a municipal garage, and didn't look crowded since I was early (just like 2 other tables . The bathroom has some tags were you can post messages from the inspiring to the mundane and hilarious. Besides sweet tea (unlimited refills! I ordered their chicken and waffles. Served to fill up the plate and with a maple syrup container, it was pretty tasty and tender. I didn't try too many other dishes, since I had a full day ahead of me and I waited close to 25 minutes from when I ordered to when my plate was brought. As I mentioned, the restaurant didn't seem to be that packed.
Before watching a movie nearby stopped into Station 5 Table Bar on a Thursday evening for happy hour. Grabbed the Braised Short Rib Tacos to snack on and tried the speciality cocktail of the day. Quality I ended up at Station 5 relatively early in the evening so I was not quite ready for a full meal. The menu was not at all what I expected, but the Braised Short Rib Tacos caught my attention. In addition to short rib they had a honey mustard aioli, brussels, caramelized onions, and were topped with cheetos. It was a pretty tasty bite. I really enjoyed the rich short rib and the cheetos added some nice crunch for texture. I would say that I wish they had more smaller snack items on the menu because I would have likely ordered more food if the choices were not as limited. I also enjoyed a delicious speciality cocktail that was made just for that evening. It was tequila and mezcal based with jalapeno added in for kick. It was tremendous and I personally think it should be added officially to the menu. Quantity I was originally concerned that two tacos was not going to be enough, but they are larger than I anticipated and packed with meat. I still could have used an additional small side, but most of the other menu items sounded larger than I needed. Value During happy hour they have a bunch of beer, wine, and cocktail specials. The drink I ordered was discounted and considering the amount of alcohol it was an excellent deal. I would say the prices of the food seemed a bit high, but not unreasonably so. Ambiance Station 5 Table Bar is located in South Miami right off Sunset. It has a small outdoor patio with a few tables and high tops. Since it was just me I decided to head inside and sit at the bar. The bar area was a good size and had two large screen televisions on each side. The restaurant was decorated in a very eclectic fashion, with all sorts of different random knickknacks everywhere. They had a bunch of small tables around the bar and then one larger table towards the back corner. Above the bar they had a collection of small plants, possibly herbs, growing in small glass orbs. It had a very causal vibe with a mix of different popular and classic tunes in the background. Crowd Although I was the only person sitting at the bar the high tops outside were busy and several others were staggering in towards the end of happy hour. It was a younger crowd and looked like possible students from UM. The bar has a casual, almost hipster vibe, and that is reflected in the other patrons. Service The bartender and server working while I was at there were tremendous. They were very friendly and personable. They also had no problem changing the stations on the television at my request and made sure to craft the speciality cocktail exactly to my liking. The service is really what set Station 5 apart. Parking There are plenty of parking options in the Sunset area. It is easy to find street parking, but there are also lots and garages very close if you would prefer not to parallel park. Valet is also a choice with a station directly in front of the restaurant. Extra Station 5 Table Bar is a unique little spot in South Miami. The food I tried was very good and the drinks were even better. The service was also tremendous. I just wish they had some more smaller items on the menu to snack on, especially during happy hour. Definitely a place I would return to when in the area.
Nicole and I went here on a whim. We had been before but it's my first review. The restaurant is on the North side of bustling Sunset Drive. The inside had a bright white countered bar decorated with hanging plants that were hung from a rustic unfinished ladder, which was unique and nice touch of old and new. This is definitely a foodie place. Chefs had a few items that piqued my curiosity on the menu! We sampled a couple of beers but opted to stick to water. We had an appetizer of chips and guac with bacon. Yah little bacon bits right on the guac. Tasty! Even the tortilla chips were perfectly seasoned. Our main order was the baby kale salad and the churrasco steak with fries. The steak was cooked medium and seasoned to perfection and was served with chimichuri sauce. The home made katsup sauce made with kimchi and it tasted fantastic. I give this place high marks for seasonings and attention to detail. A satisfying experience and would definitely come again.
Did someone say Tacoooosssss?? They have a unique variation of tacos that are outside of the Mexican comfort zone. Try the one topped with Cheetos! Yum yum! (Shown in picture below) They also have creative and innovative cocktails! #foodwastedmiami
