The Black Horse - South Oxfordshire

We’ve been here a few times for a drink at the bar and really enjoyed the atmosphere and excellent wine. So we thought we’d try steak night. Food was good, but we’ve had better. My chocolate mousse dessert was amazing but my husband was very disappointed with his crumble. I think for the price point we’d have been disappointed had we not had the free bottle of wine for ‘steak night’. Service was good but we were sitting in a huge room with very few other diners which I realise is out of control of restaurant… but it was a bit lacking in atmosphere. Will try again but ask to sit in the bar area.

This was my first visit to the Black Horse but it wont be my last! I came here with a friend and we both had the beef Sunday roast. Excellent beef and a good sized portion of fresh vegetables. Despite the pub being very busy, the service was excellent. We both opted for dessert as they were on offer at £6 each if you ordered a main course. At this price they were good value and delicious. The food is not cheap but I have eaten in other similarly priced restaurants in Thame and they have not been anything like as good.

We went to the Black Horse for my husbands 70th birthday with the family. We had the private room and was served by Lauren who was really friendly and efficient. The food, drink and ambience was amazing. Thank you to the team at the Black Horse. You are all amazing.

We had a wonderful evening on a meal out with friends for the first time at The Black Horse. Great atmosphere and delicious food. The Rhubarb and Almond Tart was incredible. Charlie, who took our orders was so friendly and it added to an already excellent night. We will definitely be back Thank you

Excellent food, great staff and a very warm welcome on arrival. Good ambience which made for a very pleasant evening visit.
