I received unenthusiastic service from a disinterested staff member who showed no interest in taking my order. When I requested a recommended juice, I was given a carrot, apple, and ginger blend that was bitter and thick. It went directly into the trash. Absolutely revolting.
I often visit Borough Market as a resident of Southwark, and on Tuesday 16th October, I decided to go to Total Organics Juice Bar. However, my experience there was quite shocking. While there, I witnessed a member of staff being extremely rude and disrespectful to an older woman. The younger girl even went as far as using inappropriate language towards the older woman. Despite the older woman's efforts to handle the situation professionally, she seemed visibly shaken. I left the establishment but returned later to find the shutter half closed. This staff member had served me previously and had always been friendly and helpful (especially with my Crohn's Disease dietary restrictions). This incident left me deeply disturbed, and the next day, I was met with a disinterested and unkempt man who did not care about taking my order. This disappointing service has led me to decide not to return to Total Organics Juice Bar. I hope the lady involved is okay.
There are a couple of juice bars in Borough Market that have pre-made juices sitting for days. This is one of only 2 places that makes them ready made and the other place I usually go to ran out of fruit. The wheatgrass makes it look attractive but I should have ran as soon as I got near the counter. The blenders and juicers look like they havent been cleaned for days. The fruit looks and tastes rotten. The lemons and oranges were precut in half and just sitting out in basket in the heat, drying out and rotting. The worst thing was when i asked the guy for the juice (an apple, watermelon and lemon mix) he put some frozen watermelon in and sachet of powder very sneakily. It looked like some flavour enhancer to crowd out his rotten fruit. I asked what the sachet was and he was adamant he didnt put anything in and pretended it was the watermelon. Even the person behind me in the queue saw it and turned away in disgust. I had to pay for the juice as he had made it but it taste pretty funky so i binned. Definitely do not recommend.
It was so nice to find something healthy vegan at the Borough Market! I went here everyday to get some good nutrition :
