Monterrey Mexican - Spartanburg

We stopped here for lunch and tried the lunch taco salad. This is a super cute place. Love the look of the bar area. The place is clean and colorful. The servers are quick and friendly. The guacamole casero was very fresh and delicious. The reason for the three stars the food came across as average and not really unique. It was good but nothing that left us with the impression that we should return. It really is a sweet restaurant and we hope you try it out. If we are in the area we might stop in but nothing that we would drive out of our way to come to.

I looked online and it said they close at 10:30 PM on Saturday 's. I walked up to the door and the sign on the door said they close at 10 PM. I walked inside the door at 9:28 PM and the woman says, we just closed. I was in shock! I told her what they have posted online and on the doo, but it did not matter. They were so rude and need to get their information corrected.

It's average Mexican food. Normal expected menu selections. There guacamole tastes purchased not freshly made. Workers are friendly and service is OK. Do not expect anything special and then you will not be disappointed. I still go back. Because of the proximity to my home. But I know what to order and what not to order. The menu is extensive but again, average everything at Monterrey.

This restaurant is my favorite Mexican restaurant in Hillcrest area of Spartanburg. The food is absolutely great. The service is also really good. I've been eating here since I was tiny. I've never had an issue. I would give it five stars if the table areas, floor areas were cleaned better after each guest. Each time I go there, they carpet has so many chips and food particles from the last person who sat in the booth. I probably am just unlucky. However, I've seen the kitchen area and the bathrooms are very clean.
