Wasabi Japanese - Spartanburg

The reviews of Wasabi convinced me to eat here and while I was surprised at its location the food and service was very good. I had the larger of the Sushi dinner options and with the exception of a couple of ‘tougher’ fish choices everything was fresh and delicious. The service was excellent, friendly and helpful. When I said surprised at the location it’s in an older shopping center and doesn’t look like much from the parking lot. Inside it’s comfortable and pleasant. So, just go and enjoy delicious sushi.

We picked up sushi to go. Easy to call in and place order, ready in 15 minutes. The place is clean, friendly staff, and they all wear masks! We ordered 4 rolls, 3 were average, the sweet and spicy roll was excellent! I would definitely continue to try other things on the menu. Pleasant experience!

My husband and I had business in North Carolina, so we stopped here on the way. First impressions were bleak, the shopping center is in its really run down. But inside, it's very comfortable. I adore the chains of origami cranes that they have hanging from the ceiling. The woman who greeted us was very polite and upbeat. I was impressed when she took our temperatures when we entered, with the pandemic still going strong. It was very clean and well maintained. The food was amazing. Hubby had the hibachi chicken and a spicy tuna roll. I had the Kyoto Chicken Bento box and HIGHLY recommend it. I also had a Michael roll, which was very good. Hubby actually said that he should have ordered the same thing I did, because that chicken is amazing. We are complete foodies and love Japanese food. I've never had anything like it. It's sweet and spicy and it's a spice that covers the whole tongue. The women who greeted us was also our server. She was just the right level of attentive, we never had empty glasses (something my chugger husband highly appreciates) and she was still available without feeling like we were being harassed. Overall, we loved it. We live out in Duncan, but we will DEFINITELY be back. I need more of that Kyoto Chicken!!

First-rate atmosphere and very attentive service. The food was crisp and enchanting. Will easily recommend this place to anyone. Affordable prices and generous meals. Great work.
