Veludo Bar Restaurant - St Kilda

If you book via Open Table do make sure that the staff properly checks you in on their system. They failed to do so when we arrived and the next day we’ve received a complaint from the Open Table for non attendance! And this is after we’ve spent more than $100 on food and drinks! Unbelievable! Also when we arrived our requested table wasn’t available although we’ve booked a couple of weeks in advance. Waited for 10-15 minutes for the menus then started to chase up the waiter. Food is just average and so is the ambiance. Do not recommend. There are plenty of good restaurants on Acland st so choose wisely.

Great service and ambience. Chicken Parma was a good size but lacked seasoning.

The food was great. I had the beetroot croquet starter and it was delish! My steak was cooked to perfection.My partner had the pork belly and it was really nice too. To finish we had the dessert selection.Overall fantastic food and great portion sizes. The restaurant had a nice cosy ambiance to it. The only slightly negative comment I would make was regarding our waitress. She was a little impatient and we didn't find her very polite. We went at a quiet time too, there was only a handful of other diners so she wasn't run off her feet. Overall had a really enjoyable meal and would recommend it.

While we found the meals were ok the serving staff appeared as if they wanted to be somewhere other than serving. We asked for the music to be turned down but were told it was as quiet as it could be making conversation more difficult.

Awesome staff and magnificent food. The bar upstairs is a good option if you want to continue on. Would recommend to anyone wanting a nice meal on Acland st.
