Contribuisci feedbackThe owner seems to be very defensive and makes snarky comments on bad reviews. What 's with the french fry comment on every bad review?!? Nobody has mentioned fries except the owner. If you can 't take negative feedback, maybe you shouldn 't be in the business. As for fresh ingredients and table cloths, many restaurants in Newfoundland have the same...That 's nothing special and shouldnt be used to justify raising prices (and you charge for the view?!?!Seriously?!? And saying you are isolated as an excuse?!? You 're up the coast....Not in Iqaluit! All poor excuses IMO
The dining room is beautiful, and the staff is extremely helpful, kind, and attentive. The restaurant overlooks the ocean. We visited for lunch, but now wish we had tried dinner instead. The lunch menu was unimpressive, featuring mainly sandwiches, simple salads, and soup. It didn't showcase the exceptional quality that this restaurant is known for.
We booked a reservation but probably didn't need to. Our waitress was lovely, helpful and personable. The moose dumplings were delicious, and the seafood was excellent. We had a table at the front window which provided a great view of the harbour. Service was prompt. The decor features local artists including very cool sculptures out of antler which are available for purchase. I can't recommend this more highly.
My husband and I had a fantastic dinner at The Norseman. We are currently on a fourteen-day Maxxim Vacations trip in Newfoundland and have been exploring the St. Anthony area for the past two days. I started off with a delicious pre-dinner cocktail, the Vinland Martini, which was very refreshing. We tried the moose dumplings, NL baby shrimp with a pea pancake, lobster, and chicken. Everything looked and tasted amazing! The food was served piping hot, which is always a plus for us. For dessert, we enjoyed the figgy duff with a screech sauce, which was absolutely decadent and delicious. The staff was attentive and worked well together as a team. They also took the time to chat with us about their cuisine and the area, making us feel very welcome. We would highly recommend dining at The Norseman. We wish we could become regulars, but unfortunately, we live in Alberta.
We went to L’anse aux Meadows to visit the historic Viking settlement not expecting to discover a great little eatery. So, our expectations were modest when we walked into this little spot on the side of the road. Boy, we’re we pleasantly surprised! Nicely appointed, great service and the best fish tacos ever!
