It is a small outdoor bistro located by the harbor in Stockholm, and it can get a bit windy later in the evening as the sea breezes come in from the Baltic Sea, as we experienced! The owner suggested that we could move if we wanted to, and we did. They also provided blankets, as is common in many Scandinavian establishments. Additionally, there is cover and heaters in case of rain. The restaurant offers beautiful views, delicious food, and serves the popular rose wine, Whispering Angel. The "Minute Steak" is a standout option, as it is a substantial cut of meat, not a thin minute steak. The portions are generous, and we noticed that the burger ordered by the table next to us was also quite sizeable. The staff was friendly and spoke good English, which is common in Sweden. We stumbled upon this restaurant during an evening stroll on our first night in Stockholm, and it turned out to be a fantastic choice. It is definitely worth a visit, and the prices are reasonable for Stockholm.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal! I definitely suggest trying the Sesame Seared Tuna. The unique aspect of this place is that you order at the bar inside (with mostly outdoor seating), which made it convenient for us to pay separately as two couples and leave whenever we were ready without having to wait for the bill.
I spent the morning at Djurgarden and was looking for a better lunch option than what was available in the park. I decided to stop at Strandbistron for lunch and had a fantastic meal. They have a nice mix of tables in the sun and shade, all with water views. We were seated quickly and given menus to order from. You order in person and they serve the food when it's ready. You also help yourself to drinks from a decent selection. The food arrived promptly and was delicious, with fresh ingredients that seemed made-to-order, especially the ahi tuna noodle salad. The atmosphere was friendly and not too noisy, making conversation easy despite the typical street traffic. I wouldn't hesitate to have lunch here again.
Went in while it was very quiet for a coffee. No baby changing facilities. Worse, they wouldn’t even let us use a wooden bench in a quiet area to change our baby and directed us to a bbq prep table behind the restaurant. Baby’s back and hands got covered in charcoal dust! Can’t believe a restaurant is allowed to get away with this sort of behaviour in 2022.
We had lunch in the sun here on a Friday, enjoying the really delicious food and nice service. Actually we returned for an afternoon coffee drink later. Just sitting here enjoying the view of the harbour was great.
