Be aware that while they answer customers through email, they do not take phone calls. Ordering online through Toast is easy, with vegan options for lots of menu items, and vegan specific foods such as their homemade seitan sub sandwiches. Their artisanal pizzas are truly delicious but the subs with homemade, thinly sliced seitan are manna from heaven. The tempeh sandwich is also delicious and has a good dose of spice. Fries are definitely worth ordering, and you have a choice of curly or straight fries. The food portions are generous. A six inch sub is a whole meal in itself. I would recommend Spak Bros to anyone- and it's convenient that they cater to veg and non-vegan eaters . Be aware that wait times can be lengthy, unless you go at non-peak meal times. I have waited an hour before for food, though it was a Friday night and I did know ahead from the estimated wait time on the Toast app after placing my order. Worth the wait! Vegetarian options: Two words: homemade seitan!!! Tempeh is also on the menu. Large selection of vegan foods and they actually offer veganaise, which is amazing. Whatever brand of vegan cheese they use is decent, with good meltability on the pizza. Parking: Parking here is on the street, can't remember if it's paid or not because I usually come at night when meters don't need to be fed anyway. Wheelchair accessibility: This business is wheelchair accessible, though please keep in mind that it's a tiny space with *perhaps* not the greatest maneuverability. Counters also are bar height.
I will preface by saying I am writing this review as a carnivore who ordered non vegan versions of a marg pizza and wings. The pizza was good but not great. I felt like it needs some salt. Decent amounts of cheese. The wings were soggy even though we asked for well done. The food truly didn’t live up to the hype but I could see that finding a vegan pizza shop might be harder than your run of the mill pizza place. Our food took almost a full hour on a Friday evening so that’s something to keep in mind as well.
Hey…as a regular customer, I’m very disappointed this time. Fried/grilled chicken salad, at a price of almost $13-$14 was sub par. Missing ingredients that made it worth it and special. Disappointed given the 20 minute wait, for this poor quality of a “classic,” easy to make PGH salad…
Everytime I prefer from here I get extra meat on everything doesn’t matter if it’s a hogie salad it don’t matter I pay for extra meat and I never get it there’s thing I have them take out or off whatever I order and it’s still on there when I pick it up I’m tired of spending my money on product I’m not receiving it’s not hard to read what the order is then they don’t even answer the phone this place sucks
