The only food in the buffet that wasn't deep fried was mush and visibly from multiple batches that were cooked hours apart. I had an egg roll on my plate when I noticed that there were no edible vegetables, soni asked my server if I could just pay for the egg roll and my drink. Then I noticed that my drink was in disgustingly dirty glass. They charged me for it anyway, so I paid 7 dollars for a soggy lukewarm eggroll. Avoid at all costs. There are two other Chinese restaurants in town that aren't disgusting.
My husband and I went for lunch buffet and were astonished this place is still in business. The food looked and tasted like yesterday's leftovers. It was soggy soaked with oil. Nothing was hot. Poor selection. The restaurant looked like it hadn't been cleaned or overhauled since the 80's or 90's...old decor. They still had boarder wallpaper! Give me a break. Never going back.
My partner and I have gone to the Jade several times. We order off the menu as the buffet is over-priced and unappealing for the various reasons already listed in other reviews. However their menu items, in particular their dinners for two, are good value (about the same as the cost of the buffet for two) and the food has always been fresh, hot and awesome. Their chicken balls are smaller but that’s because they are actually filled with chicken and not housed in batter the size of a baseball. Avoid the buffet and you’ll have a much better experience.
The food was decent, but it wasn't spectacular by any means. The service was lacking in the beginning, but after a few minutes she warmed up to us and seemed pleasant. In all honesty, I would probably go to a local fast food restaurant before going back.
