The Anchorage At Sunapee Harbor

We were disappointed to find the restaurant closed when we arrived. It seems they had a freezer issue, but it would have been helpful if they had informed us beforehand.

Our party of 6 had a reservation for brunch at 11:30, which we booked online. When we arrived, our table was not ready. We had to wait for the server to quickly clean it before we could sit down. We weren't given napkins or silverware until I asked, and the server was extremely rude when getting them for us, practically throwing them at us. The rest of the experience was just as disappointing - the adult beverages were mediocre and overpriced ($10 each for a mimosa and **** mary), the coffee was cold and clearly leftover, there were no condiments offered for the English muffins, and all omelets used egg beaters instead of fresh eggs. Overall, it was a very bad experience and I would not recommend having breakfast or brunch at Anchorage.

The food was subpar at best. I would think that a resturant in that location, that has the clientelle of the Sunapee region would try harder for the prices they are charging. The server, while friendly, had no clue what was on the menu or how to work a table.

My wife and I had dinner here at sunset on a Saturday in February, right before it started to get crowded. Unfortunately, my wife's salmon was not cooked enough, but they were able to fix it. My meatloaf was decent, but it could have used a bit more pepper. The desserts didn't appeal to us, so we didn't try them. We didn't try any drinks, except for a hot chocolate that my wife really enjoyed. However, our server Amelia was fantastic, the atmosphere was welcoming, the view was picturesque New England, and we both liked the photos displayed on the walls.

The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with outdoor seating on the deck that offers a stunning view of the lake. However, the food does not live up to the ambiance. The quality of the food is poor. Despite good service, it doesn't make up for the disappointing food. The price per person ranges from $10 to $20. Overall, the food receives a rating of 2, service a 4, and atmosphere a 4.
