The café is in Pinelands Plaza Shopping Centre, a small group of shops in a row, mostly Asian cafés/restaurants.We had booked which was just as well on a Friday night as it was very busy. Tables are just café-style with two benches to each table. We and another couple were the only non-Asian people there so I assume the food was authentic. Service was very quick and friendly. Three of us shared three dishes and rice. We were each given a full little bowl of rice but no separate bowl so we put the other food on top to eat. We had beef and vegetables which came as what I think was either pak choy or bok choy, barbecued pork which came with a tasty sauce and lemon chicken. We all enjoyed these. My husband had menu choice scrambled eggs with prawns. We have never seen that on the menu before! The prawns were big and a very generous quantity but my husband said he had a faintly metallic taste in his mouth later. There were quite a number of western choices, which included "baked spaghetti bolognese" and "toast with peanut butter and condensed milk". Our main courses were a generous size as you would expect and were about $14.90 each, excluding rice, so good value. We would be happy to eat there again but would also want to try one of the other eateries in the shopping centre.
A bit stale inside but with plenty of atmosphere. Full of Chinese people eating and talking. The food is very tasty and large servings. Huge menu with options for everyone. The food is cooked perfectly and priced very reasonably. Why not step out of your comfort zone and try something different. I will go back.
If you like to have good Cantonese congee and this is the place to come. Authentic Hong kong café food. Wonton soup is also good.
My wife and I really enjoy this quaint restaurant. I keep going back for the BBQ Pork and Roast Duck with Rice dish, whilst my wife enjoys the Ho Fun dishes. Their drinks are delicious - try the Lychee Crushed Ice Drink and the Lemon Iced Tea. A bit of an out of the way place as I live on the Gold Coast, but always worth the effort. Highly recommended!
Had a farewell lunch here for my friend returning to Hong Kong. The menu choice huge from Rice dishes (26 choices!) Chinese style, Noodle soups, Vegetarian? Congee, omelettes, other dishes about 100 choices all up. The service was great, friendly, fast and obliging.I enjoyed the pickled vegetable duck and rice vermicelli soup. She had the egg and pork congee..delish fresh and large servings. The hot chrysanthemum Herbal Tea was the perfect end to a great lunch.. My friend had the stronger HK style coffee. Thanks
