Contribuisci feedbackThe café offers a set lunch menu that is quite limited in options but still tasty. If you are not opting for the set menu, you must email them the day before to specify if you are vegan or gluten-free. They do have vegan choices available, but it is recommended to inform them in advance. The café also houses a Buddhist bookstore and offers meditation sessions, making it a pleasant spot to visit. Relaxed, charming, rustic place where the food is prepared fresh every day. Not really much choice, as it is a set kind of lunch, but everything is always tasty and fresh. Drive up to Eudlo for the experience alone, walk around the grounds and soak up the Tibetan atmosphere. Just lovely.
Caution: The staff in the cafeteria includes volunteers who may not fully understand what "vegan" means and may give inaccurate information about food ingredients, so it's best to request to speak with a chef. The restaurant has limited vegan options and no vegan desserts, which was disappointing for my children. Additionally, I was put off by the hypocrisy of the establishment. There is a sign in the restroom asking patrons to leave the seat down to prevent harm to insects, yet most of the food served contains dairy. This inconsistency suggests a need for greater awareness and understanding.
This restaurant is a charming place to dine at. Make sure to make a reservation in advance and inform them if you are vegan. You can usually choose from 2-3 hot meals and a salad, all for $10. Dessert may be an additional cost. The food is delicious and definitely worth it. It's also worth the trip to visit the Chenrezig Institute; explore the Buddhist bookshop, walk around the grounds, and possibly even participate in a meditation session, depending on the timing of your visit.
Intentionally, workers in canteen include volunteers who pretend to understand what vegan means and blast a response to food ingredients, so ask for a cook. it has very few vegan foods and definitiw no vegan desserts such a waste in the eyes of my children. it also left me with an evil taste of hypocrisy in my mouth. there is a sign in the toilets that they ask to ensure that the seat stays down so that insects are not injured, but the majority of food in the kantine contains milk. here needed some more clarification.
